Value normalization overview

In an extraction project, the values returned at the end of the process can be kept in their original form or they can be modified using different approaches. The aim of such a process is to remove or reduce redundancies in the data, to present it in a standardized format and to improve completeness and correctness. Normalization options can be described as belonging to two main approaches:

• Transformation
• Composition

These two methods can be used separately or in combination. They are the optional part in the association of an extracted token and a field, and they control which data is transferred into the field.
