Create an API key

To create an API key:

  • In the case of a public key, in the API keys page:

    • If there are no keys, select Create API key.
    • If there are already other keys, select Create API key at the top of the left panel.

  • In the case of a project key:

    • If the project has just been created, select Create API key inside the Assets panel, otherwise:

      • [Open]((../../projects/edit/index.md#open-a-project) the project:

        • If the project doesn't have assets, select Create API key.
        • If the project already has some assets, select the plus icon at the top of the left panel then choose Create API key.

  • When publishing a workflow, in the first step of the publication wizard select Create new API key.

In all the cases above a dialog appears, asking for the name of the key and an identifying color. Enter that information and select Generate key.
The value of the new key is then shown.

Warning

The value of the key is visible only at this time. It is therefore necessary to save the value before closing the dialog.

Select Copy to clipboard to copy the key value to the clipboard then paste and store the value in a safe place, for example a password manager.
