Roles

Introduction

What an account—whether a user account for human use of the UI or a service account for automated use via APIs—can do on EI-Flow objects (projects, workflows, models, API keys, custom components, labels, runtimes) depends on three factors:

  • Ownership: the owner of an object always has full power over it.
  • Sharing: on objects (projects, runtimes) shared with it, the account has the permissions assigned by the sharer.
  • When ownership and sharing don't apply, the account has the permissions derived from its roles.

A role corresponds to a set of privileges to perform actions on various types of objects.

Groups also have roles: each account has one or more own roles plus the roles of the groups to which they belong. This article describes roles and their corresponding permissions.

Installation with projects

Projects are a feature that can be installed or not.
If there are projects, roles are of two types: basic and add-on. Every account and every group must have at least one basic role.

The tables below list the privileges of the basic and add-on roles when there are projects.
