Use the UI
Move between pages
The initial page of EI-Flow UI is the login page, read the article about logging in and out to learn how to use it.
To move between the main pages:
-
From Projects, Workflows, Models, API keys, JavaScript templates, Custom components and Labels:
- Select the icon corresponding to page where you want to go from the vertical menu of the left of the page.
Or:
- To go in the Runtimes page, select Runtimes
on the right of the top toolbar.
-
From Administration or any other page, select the Expert.ai icon on the left of the top toolbar. You are brought to the Workflows page from where you can reach any other main page as indicated above.
- From any page, to open the Administration page, select the icon with your initials at the right of the top toolbar and select Administration from the drop-down menu.
Switch between list views
Some lists like the list of workflows allow for alternative visualizations.
- Select cards
to activate the cards view. - Select table
to activate the table view.
Sort lists
- To sort a table list on the values of a column, check if there is a triangle icon beside the column name. If yes, to sort just select the column header. To invert the sort direction—from ascending to descending and viceversa—select the column name again,
- To sort a card view, look for a couple of controls above the list. The one on the right is a drop-down list. Select from it to choose the property of the listed objects on whose values you want to sort the list. To the left of the property name there's a toggle switch, select it to pass from ascending
to descending
and viceversa.
Filter lists
Use filter controls to make a list show only items corresponding to a criterion.
- If there are drop-down lists above the list, aligned to the left of the panel, they correspond to properties or features of the listed objects. When you open a drop-down, it can show a radio group—only one choice possible—or checkboxes—multiple choices are possible—. Make your choice and select Apply to add the criterion to the filter.
- If there are checkboxes above the list, they signify the object having or not having a given feature. For example, for workflows, being published or not. Select the checkbox to activate and deactivate the filter.
- If there is a search box above the list, you can type something and press
Enter: only objects with the value of a identification property—typically the name—matching what you typed are displayed.
To cancel the filter select the X icon inside the search box or delete what you typed and pressEnter. - If there are tabs above the list, they work as checkboxes (see above).
Select items in lists
Some lists allow selections to:
- Perform an operation on the selected objects.
- Display detail information about the selected object in a separate panel.
When multiple selection makes sense, for example to unpublish several workflow at once, it can be done with Ctrl + Click or Shift + Click.
Multiple selection
Use Shift + Click to select a range, that is a continuous block of items, it works between a starting point and an ending point.
- Click the first item
- Hold
Shift - Click the last item
Use Ctrl + Click to select individual, possibly non-contiguous, items.
- Hold
Ctrl - Click each item you want
Open workspaces
Workflows and projects have workspaces.

Interact with dialogs
- If a dialog asks for confirmation, you give it by selecting OK.
- If a dialog allows entering data or making choices, confirm your input by selecting Save or Apply.
- If a dialog pops-up while hovering over something and gives you choices, make the choice by selecting it.
- To cancel a classic dialog either select Close or Cancel. Alternatively you can click somewhere outside the dialog.
- Dialogs that pop-up while hovering on something disappear when you move the focus somewhere else.
Use wizards
A wizard has an initial dialog and several step dialogs.
- To move to the next step select Next.
- To return to the previous step select Back.
- Finish in the last step by selecting the button whose name describes the action that is going to be executed, for example Create at the end of the workflow creation wizard or Publish at the end of the workflow publication wizard.
