Manage project sharing and ownership

By default, a project is visible only to its owner and to users with the Data Owner role. However, it is possible to share the project between users.

Manage sharing

To manage sharing of a project with other users:

1. In any dashboard view, select Projects on ​​the left menu.
2. Locate the project and select it.
3. Select Share project or View collaborators on the right panel. A dialog appears. If the project is not yours and you haven't the permission to share it, you can only view the project's ownership and sharing status.
   Otherwise, you can perform the operation described below. Once you're finished, select Save.

To add shares:

• In the dialog, for each user with whom you want to share the project:

  1. Select the user from the left drop-down menu.
  2. Select one or more permissions from the right drop-down menu.
  3. Select Add.

To change the permissions for a share:

1. In the dialog, locate the user of the share and select the drop-down menu with a gear icon.
2. In the drop-down menu, check and uncheck the permissions as desired.

To delete a share:

1. In the dialog, locate the user of the share and select the drop-down menu with a gear icon.
2. In the drop-down menu, select Remove.

Change owner

To make another user the owner of a project of yours:

1. In any dashboard view, select Projects on ​​the left menu.
2. Locate the project and select it.

3. Select the icon of a pawn with plus sign on the right panel. A dialog appears.
   If the user you want to transfer ownership to is not listed among the users with whom the project is shared:

   1. Select the user from the left drop-down menu.
   2. Select one or more permissions from the right drop-down menu.
   3. Select Add.

4. Select the user from the list of shares and select Set as owner.

   Immediately after loosing the ownership, a share is automatically created that allows you accessing the project with full permissions. However, the new owner can remove one or more permissions or delete the share.

   Warning

   You cannot independently regain ownership of the project once you have given it to someone else. If necessary, you will need to contact the new owner and ask him to transfer the ownership back to you.

5. If, at the same time as changing ownership, you also want to abandon the project, locate the row corresponding to your user and select Leave.

6. Select Save.

Abandon a project

To abandon a project that has been shared with you:

1. In any dashboard view, select Projects on ​​the left menu.
2. Locate the project and select it.
3. Select the icon of a pawn with plus sign on the right panel. A dialog appears.
4. Locate the row corresponding to your user and select Leave.
5. Select Save.
