Manage the access to a runtime
Introduction
A public runtime item is visible and usable by all users of the NL Flow Web application without any restriction to control the corresponding runtime application.
A private runtime item, instead, is initially only visible to and usable by its creator, who is also the initial owner. He can however share the runtime item with other users and even give its ownership to a user he has shared the item with.
Manage shares
To manage the shares of a runtime item you must either be its owner or have the Edit runtime permission on it, a permission that can be given to you by someone who has shared the item with you.
In the Runtimes view of the dashboard, select the runtime item from the list and then select Share runtime in the right pane. A dialog appears. The dialog shows at least one line corresponding to the item owner, the implicit share.
-
To create a new share:
- Select the user name from the Account drop-down list. To filter the list, type something in the input field: only users with a name, surname or username that contains what you typed will be listed.
- Select Add.
-
To delete a share:
-
Select Remove from the drop-down menu to the right of the user's name in the share row.
Note
You cannot delete the implicit share corresponding to the ownership of the runtime item.
Or:
- If you are not the owner of the runtime item shared with you, select Leave in the row corresponding to your user.
-
Manage permissions
You manage the permissions a user has on a private runtime item using shares. In the Runtimes view of the dashboard:
- To set permissions when you create a share (see above), choose the permissions in the Permissions box.
- To change the permissions of an existing share, select the runtime item from the list and then select Share runtime in the right pane. A dialog appears.
Check or uncheck the permissions in the drop-down list to the right of the user name in the list of the shares.
Change the owner
If you are the owner of a runtime item, you can transfer the ownership to another user. First share the runtime item with that user (see above), then:
- In the Runtimes view of the dashboard, select the runtime item from the list and then select Share runtime in the right pane. A dialog appears.
- Select Set as owner in the row of the share of the user you want to become the new owner.
